In 1961, what is today Fonseca Supermercados was born, it was founded in Sao Jose do Rio Pardo, with the format of a grocery store that served residents of the neighborhood. In 2017, Fonseca Supermercados enters the select group of the 100 largest supermarket chains in the country and is also ranked among the 25 largest chains in the state of Sao Paulo.
